Vanessa utilizes an integrative approach during treatment, consisting of but not limited to ACT, strength-based interventions, person-centered techniques as well as others, to support each client and their individual needs. She believes the therapeutic relationship is extremely important so she does her best to provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental/non-intimidating environment. Vanessa’s clients can expect her to meet them where are, while providing psycho education, validation, motivation, coping skills, and overall support.
Inspired By
What gets Vanessa out of bed in the mornings is a coffee, quick mental gratitude list, and knowing she gets to provide support, care, and a safe space for those she works with. Being the eldest child, Vanessa feels it has always been very natural for her to be caring, solution-focused, resourceful, and empathetic when helping others, which is why she thinks this path chose her. It is important to Vanessa that those around her feel heard, seen, and understood.

Tell Me More!
Vanessa is a first generation graduate. She considers herself an easy going person who is open to new experiences. Some of her values consist of family, integrity, compassion, inclusion, wellness, humor, and adventure. When Vanessa’s not at work, she is either on an outdoor walk to help clear her mind, trying a new restaurant, or relaxing at home. She enjoys traveling, trying new recipes, quality time with family and friends, concerts, and attending sport events or watching them from home with family (go Bay Area sports! 49ers, SF Giants, and Warriors). Being near the ocean is also a favorite as she feels more at ease, relaxed, and inspired.
Background
Vanessa has been working with children and adolescents since 2013. She began her career working with children on the spectrum in their classroom environment as well as providing ABA therapy at the center or their home. With her experience in the ABA field as well as personal life experiences, Vanessa knew she wanted to do more and decrease limitations. She completed the MSW program at CSU, Stanislaus and began working at a local community mental health agency shortly after completing the graduate program. Vanessa has gained an immense amount of knowledge, personal experiences, and growth while at the agency. She is avidly seeking new opportunities to continue to grow professionally as well as individually.
