At our family-focused practice, we understand that raising a child is a rewarding but sometimes challenging experience. That's why we are excited to announce our new parent support services. We have a new parent support group that will provide a safe space for parents to come together, share experiences, and find helpful resources. You'll have the chance to connect with other parents who are facing similar challenges and gain valuable insights into how to support your children's growth.
In addition to our support group, we also have immediate openings for Parent Support, with a focus on neurodiversity, ADHD, anxiety, and navigating the dynamics of a neurodivergent family. Our experienced team of professionals is dedicated to helping parents navigate the unique challenges that come with parenting a neurodivergent child.
Additionally, we have immediate openings for support that focuses on chronic illnesses, such as cancer, autoimmune disease, neurological disorders, and diabetes, as well as those who have experienced acute medical issues, like surgeries or broken bones. Our team is passionate about helping families and individuals process all of the emotions that stem from medical trauma, and we are equipped to provide effective coping strategies that will help you work toward healing.
We know that every child has potential and promise, and we are here to help you put a plan in place to support your child's growth and development.

Everyone wants what is best for their child, but it can be difficult to understand exactly what they need sometimes. Children experience so many big feelings that they don’t always have the means to communicate, and they can come to the surface in unexpected ways that are hard for parents to interpret. It can also feel discouraging trying to handle the unique challenges that come with having a neurodiverse child. Finding effective strategies for your child, whether neurodiverse or neurotypical, is often a challenge in itself. It’s exhausting to try different methods over and over again without results and feel like your child is struggling with the same behavioral patterns and big feelings you’ve worked so hard to help them with.
Our dedicated team of clinicians understands how frustrating this cycle can be, and we have the tools to help you break free from it. We know that every child has potential and promise, and our priority is to support you in helping your child become the best version of themselves they can be. We will teach you how to confidently manage your children’s behavior while maintaining a positive relationship, and support you in learning strategies to get your child to listen to you through positive behavior reinforcement.
Our clinicians are available for parenting support, to help you put an effective plan in place for your child’s growth and development. The Healthy Minds team offers support for all families, including those with neurodiversity, ADHD, anxiety, and those who are looking for help with navigating neurodivergent family dynamics. As they say, it takes a village, so if you’re looking for a more community-focused approach to parenting therapy, we also offer parent support groups year-round. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with other parents who understand, as well as one of our experienced clinicians, to learn strategies for effective parenting.
Parenting is hard, but you don’t have to do it alone. We’re here to help.
Parenting Therapy Benefits
When looking for support with your child’s big feelings, it is often recommended that parents seek individual therapy for their children. However, many children, particularly younger ones, struggle to accurately recall the big feelings they experienced throughout the week. They may not remember the intensity of their emotional response, or even what caused it, so it can be difficult for them to process in session with their therapist. Because their clinician only sees them for an hour a week in one setting, it may be challenging to get the full scope of your child’s experience outside of the office.
Parenting therapy creates the opportunity to work with a clinician who can support you in your parenting journey, either independently or in conjunction with your child’s individual therapy. As a parent, you witness your child’s school, home, and social experience every day, and have the capacity to recall the big emotional moments that they may have forgotten, so your therapist can have a clearer image of the issues that they need support with. Parenting therapy will also equip you with tools and strategies to handle meltdowns, outbursts, and behavioral challenges that your child may experience in day-to-day life, which indirectly offers remarkable support to them. With these tools and the support of our team, you can approach parenting confidently, and feel capable of handling any struggles your child is facing.
