Rachel Gross, ASW, MS

Associate Clinical Social Worker

Associate therapists have completed their academic training for a masters degree and have worked with children and families for several years. In order to sit for their licensing exam, they have to be supervised for approximately 3000 hours after getting their degree. They are currently being supervised by one of our licensed clinicians to obtain these hours and complete this training. Supervision is a collaborative process and your child will have the support of two very capable clinicians.

She has seen time and again, that no matter the issue, there are similar themes and challenges that we each encounter throughout the lifecycle. Rachel strives to create secure spaces for her clients using warmth, empathy, and active listening.

Rachel believes that mental health is a universal issue and that mental fitness is as important as physical fitness. She loves connecting with people of all ages, especially children. Rachel is keenly interested in neurodiversity, ADHD, anxiety, and learning styles. Working with clients to help them identify their strengths and execute their goals, her process is influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Growth Mindset, Humanism, and Mindfulness.

Inspired By

Raised in the Washington DC metropolitan area, Rachel has always had a passion for getting involved and making a difference. However, it was reading with school-aged children as a volunteer, in a local, after-school program that ignited her interest in social work. Families were managing all sorts of issues, among them mental health, and they began sharing their stories. This led her to pursue a Master of Science in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Diablo, photography, vintage furniture, interior design, swimming, books, and any sort of library.  An avid reader of fiction and non-fiction, she started a book club in her neighborhood and is a fan of the public library system.
