Associate therapists have completed their academic training for a masters degree and have worked with children and families for several years. In order to sit for their licensing exam, they have to be supervised for approximately 3000 hours after getting their degree. They are currently being supervised by one of our licensed clinicians to obtain these hours and complete this training. Supervision is a collaborative process and your child will have the support of two very capable clinicians.

Tell Me More!

Jennifer has a 26 year old son and 23 year old daughter. She and her husband enjoy their “empty nest” time together, while cherishing the opportunities they have to spend with their children, friends, and extended family. In Jennifer’s free time, she loves traveling, gardening, hiking and feeding her creative side. She also enjoys volunteering with the Make A Wish Foundation and local art programs.

The opportunity to connect with others, and be of service, is what gets Jennifer out of bed in the morning. Her sense of spirituality also plays a role in providing purpose and direction in her life. Jennifer strives to always be learning and challenging herself to understand different perspectives and try new experiences.

Background

Growing up Jennifer thought she wanted to be an elementary school teacher. However, in college while working with children in a Head Start program, she saw how important social and emotional development is to a child’s health and well-being. From that point on, Jennifer became dedicated to helping children develop their full potential, both within the school system as well as supporting their families outside the classroom.

During her graduate program, and for several years following, she worked with foster children by advocating for them in their schools, providing mental health support, and supporting reunification with their families. Jennifer often works with children, parents and families who are experiencing trauma, stress, anxiety, separation, and grief. She also has many years of experience teaching and counseling, including working with individuals and groups to build social and executive function skills. Jennifer enjoys working with all ages, from preschoolers to seniors, and is familiar with the developmental joys and challenges of each life stage.
