Collin Bessette

Healthy Minds Client Care Coordinator, and currently a student at Palo Alto University, Masters of Science in Psychology

Collin is the Client Care Coordinator at Healthy Minds. You may meet Collin when you come in for a session, or via email for billing or scheduling inquiries.

From a very young age, Collin has always had the drive to help others and his community. He really wants to make a difference in others’ lives and help as many people as he possibly can. Before starting his academic career in Psychology, he was a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo studying Engineering. He realized that going into the Engineering field wasn't how he was meant to spend his life. Collin found Psychology during a difficult time in his life, and it has helped him better himself and has given him more of the tools to help others. He intends to continue his education, and eventually receive his doctorate in Clinical Psychology to work as a therapist, as well as a researcher in the field.

Collin comes from a family of teachers and has been surrounded by children his entire life. He loves to support the people around him as best he can, and many of his life experiences have allowed him to do so. Collin spent many years unsure of how he wanted to spend his life and what his true purpose was, but over time, he found that Psychology was the perfect way for him to incorporate his love for helping others into a career. Collin has worked with children for quite some time, and has volunteered at Healthy Minds in the past. During his time volunteering, he worked with Clinical Associates with running kids camps, and preparing children for their upcoming school year. Previously Collin worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Tracy with struggling youth, and provided mentorship and tutoring to help them succeed in school as well as life.

Before Collin’s current position at Healthy Minds, he worked at a golf course in Pleasanton, CA. He spend most of his free time out on the golf course working on his game, and he found peace when playing. He is also currently a student at Palo Alto University and will hopefully be receiving his M.S. in Psychology. He spends much of his time outside of work trying new sushi places in the area with his girlfriend, as well as going to concerts around the area. Let him know if you have any good sushi recommendations!! Collin and his family are avid board game players and spend many nights at home playing various games. One of their favorites is Catan. They play as much as they can, and during college he even joined a Catan playing club and became quite good at the strategy game.

Collin is very excited to learn as much as he can from the experienced Clinicians here at Healthy Minds. He is confident that their years of experience will definitely help him in his future endeavors, as he strives to become one of them, and works towards having a private practice of his own.
